This paper presents little empirical research which has been conducted to identify and quantify the core determinants of Grid assimilation as potential strategic course of action in the financial services industry. In order to conceptualize the critical role of institutional pressure (mimetic, coercive, normative) driving the assimilation process in the financial services industry, authors draw on institutional theory to amend the environmental component of the technology-organizationenvironment(TOE) framework.
